Site origins: The site has been developed by practising educators as a source of teaching materials to support teachers and students working towards external examinations. The resources available have grown out of actual classroom work. We hope teachers worldwide will offer suggestions for further growth, and perhaps be willing to place on the site literature resources they themselves have developed.
Conditions of Purchase
What is bought: The WordSmith Guides are published as pdf files to be downloaded and saved to the purchaser's computer. Purchase of one copy of a book entitles the purchaser to download, save and print the book once only. Purchase of a site licence entitles the purchaser to place the book(s) on a computer network or bank of computers (within the terms of the licence) but not to print hard copies. Transactions are subject to UK contract law.
How it is bought: Payment may be made by credit card, cheque, cash or bank transfer (full details are given on the Purchase page for each book.) Payment by credit card is through ClickBank, a secure credit card processing system. An invoice may be requested prior to purchase. A receipted copy of the invoice will be supplied upon request. How the sale may be cancelled: For sales by credit card, ClickBank provides a 90-day money-back guarantee. Purchasers by that or any other payment method may also exercise their statutory right to request a refund within fourteen days of purchase. Refunds will be granted without question. In the event of a refund, copies held on a purchaser's computer must be deleted, hard copies destroyed, and URLs giving access to the pdf files discarded.
How the books are delivered: Credit card purchasers are taken to a Thank You page so that they know payment has been received. A URL on the Thank You page will take them directly to the book's pdf file. Purchasers by other methods are usually sent the URL once WordSmith has been informed that a cheque or cash has been mailed. There are no additional delivery charges.
Resale: Legitimately purchased and printed hard copies of the study guides may be re-sold. The pdf files themselves, however, because of the ease with which they can be duplicated, must not be sold on to a third party without the express consent of WordSmith. See also Copyright (below).
Privacy
Information supplied by purchasers will not be passed on to a third party without purchasers' consent. Purchasers may at any time request sight of all information about them held by WordSmith. We do not use cookies on the site, nor do we randomly email private individuals in order to promote sales.

WordSmith copyright: WordSmith Publishers claims copyright to all of the WordSmith Guides. No copies beyond those allowed under the Conditions of Purchase can be made without express permission.
Secondary copyright: Additionally, no copies may be made of material (poems, prose passages) included in the study guide 'Writing Unseen Commentaries' and for which WordSmith has paid copyright fees to other publishers and authors, beyond those allowed under the Conditions of Purchase.
